In a close cooperation with the automotive supplier WkW-Erbslöh, WAGNER succeeded in developing a unique application technology for applying thin and stable nano-sized sol-gel coatings. The nano-lacquer offers perfect protection and high quality finishing for anodized surfaces like stainless steel and aluminium.

The technology is already running very successfully in two factories of the WkW Group (Germany and USA). Due to the outranging results, another system for Asia is already planned.v

The nano-sized sol-gel technology allows applying a very thin protective coating on top of bright-anodized aluminium surfaces. This protection allows even very aggressive liquids to drip very fast in order to avoid damage. The coatings of 0.5 to 5 micrometers are completely transparent. Further important results of the technology are a significantly reduced pretreatment as well as a high reduction of production costs.

The technology is not only suitable for automotive parts but for all decorative surfaces made out of aluminium or stainless steel. Possible fields of application for this new and unique application technology are for example:

• door fittings
• decorative aluminium or stainless steel surfaces (e.g. furnishing)
• facades (refining of anodized surfaces)
• Radiators
• Stainless steel extractor hoods
• Etc.
